Free Blog Providers
Web Site Promotion for the Small Business
October 22, 2007
The post from October 18, 2007 talks about Reciprocal Links, which is all good but what if you can’t get anyone to link to you? In these cases, create your own reciprocal linking.
The are many FREE blog, forum, and web site providers out there and the only thing that matters for this advertising method is that a page on a URL that is NOT your own is pointing to your URL. Some of the free site providers are:
- groups.yahoo.com
- groups.google.com
- …and so on
Use this Google Search to find many more free blog sites.
What you want to do is post messages on these blogs that talk about your company and your company’s web site. Make sure to include your company’s web address in the post and make sure, if you can, that the web address is a link (a href). These new sites will be picked up by the search engines and since they link to your main site, they will be seen as reciprocal links.
Make sure you post messages periodically on your free site(s) in order to keep your search engine listing up-to-date.
Tomorrow: I will give you additional tasks that can be done in relation to creating these free sites that will help get your posts out to RSS feed subscribers and Blog Directory readers.
