Learn The SEO Secret Behind Google Alerts
Web Site Promotion For The Small Business v2
November 9, 2007
Let's say you are a small business owner and you sell Widgets. You've read most of my blog posts and you are in the process of writing an article as part of your web site promotion plan. You are stuck, however. What do you write about? Where do you get your ideas?
It turns out that Google has a GREAT service that can help with this very problem. Google Alerts is a service that allows you to enter key words and it emails you the related hits based on current Google search/news results. As it relates to writing an article, this is the perfect tool because it can give you ideas based on what people a currently searching for. BigOakInc.com states:
Another approach can be to use the keywords on your tag to search. This will tell you if people are searching for terms that will lead them to your site.

Google ALERTS are fantastic! In fact, I have made some excellent connections, met bloggers, business owners, beautiful people and more by subscribing to this service.
And you can also set Google Alerts to notify you when “your name” or company is mentioned anywhere online!
Thanks, Johh!
