Do you have committment issues?

Web Site Promotion For The Small Business v2
November 10, 2007

Do you feel like you are on the right track with your small business? Do you think it will succeed? To that end, will your web site succeed? If the answer to any of these questions is “no”, please stop reading this post now because the information it contains will not help you. For those of you that are left (the believers), here is a tip that will increase your search engine rankings, and allow you to put your believe out there on the Internet for everyone to see. Are you ready for this? Register your domain for at least three years at a time. That's it.

The search engines are of the belief that “Valuable (legitimate) domains are often paid for several years in advance, while doorway (illegitimate) domains rarely are used for more than a year“. Google has even filed a United States Patent Application (20050071741) stating that very fact.

When you send in that post card to sign up for TV Guide, check the 1-year box. When you sign that lease on an apartment, stick with 1-year. When it comes to your domain, make a REAL commitment.
