Improve Local Search Rankings Through Reviews

Web Site Promotion For The Small Business v2
December 13, 2007

If your business is NOT Internet-based, this tip is for you. Unless you are just starting out, I’m sure you’ve had former customers that were very satisfied with the results you provided. Maybe you received a letter or email of thanks. How about having that letter of thanks made public?

Google now allows people using their local search to add reviews to the results they receive. Future recipients of the reviewed result will also see the review. Keep in mind, this can help your business ONLY if the review is positive…so don’t tick off your customers.

Reviews can be added by going to Google Maps and searching for your business by city and state. There will be a Write A Review link above your company address.

Google Maps - Write A Review

Just ask your satisfied customers to write a review and give them these instructions and *poof*; you have just received public recognition.
