Why Technorati Is Good For Site Promotion

Although, on the surface, it would appear that adding another method for people to get to your site would be a positive thing, however, not all bloggers agree that Technorati tags actually help your web site traffic. On dailyblogtips.com, the list the following fours reasons why Technorati helps your blog:

technorati tags will allow more people to find your blog
technorati tags will increase the traffic coming from Technorati
technorati tags will increase the keyword density of your posts
technorati tags will increase your search engine traffic

Although these reasons seem to be very convincing, some bloggers have run tests to determine if the tags help traffic by removing the tags from their sites, then monitoring to see if the traffic level changes…and it did not. Coincidence? Who knows? All I know is if there is a possibility that Technorati can help my site's traffic and others are using it successfully, I'll use it too.

I found one blog post, entitled Are Technorati Tags Useless?, that indicates Technorati tags are useless. I would think, however, that if they were so useless, the information professing this line of thinking would be more prevalent. Decide for yourself.
