Why META Tags And Titles Need To Be Specific To The Page
Web Site Promotion For The Small Business v2
December 29, 2007
I manage www.stlouisselfdefense.com. SEO on that site has been a little slow, however, I recently wrote an admin application that allows me to manage the titles and meta tag keywords on every page on the site. If I have not entered anything, default meta tag keywords and a default page title will be used. I talk more about Titles and META Tags in several of my posts, including the December 2nd post entitled The Importance Of The Title Tag. Each page's title and meta tags should be specific to that page, hence my new application.

fig.1 This is a partial screen shot of my admin application. It does not currently handle all of the META tags because most cannot be made page-specific. As you can see,
I've made the keywords and description specific to the instructors.asp page.
I hope to continue to enhance this application. I plan on using the same code at elsewhere.
You might not have the staff or expertise to write an application to handle this, however, you should be able to manually place the unique information within the page. Good luck.
